Massugu Mae No chapter 7

Angel and Leto walked down the hallway back towards Angel's room. It was quite between them and a bit awkward. They arrived at the room to find Leto's father waiting. "Where were you two at?" Leto answered "We got bored and walked around the hospital, did you need something?" Leto's father pushed himself off of the wall he was leaning on "yes actually." Leto made a confused face "For what?" He walk towards them "Your mother wants you to come home, we have a lot to discuss." Angel gripped Leto's sleeve "Time for you to go I guess. . . " she looked up at him and smiled "Can you come and visit me later?" Leto smiled at her "I'll try, I'll also go pick up the homework you missed in class." Angel made a funny face "Well, I don't think you need to that, I mean you know; it's not something you HAVE to do it." Leto laughed. Leto's father walked past them "Let's go Leto, your mother is waiting." He continued to walk. Angel and Leto looked back at him then at each other. "Wll you come back and visit later?" Leto grinned " 'Course I will, I might not even have to visit, because you're healing so fast, you'll be out of here in no time." Angel smiled "Yea, maybe." Her face turned red and she reached up to his face and kissed him. "I'll call tonight, k?" Leto hugged her "K, cya later." He followed after his dad down the hallway. Angel watched them leave. After they were out of sight, the smile left her face, and she hung her head and walked back to her room.

Leto's father got into the back seat of the car, next to his wife. Leto got in on the other side, so that he was sitting in front of his parents. He wondered what was so important that they needed him right now. The driver started the car and they were off. Leto's parents didn't say anything; so he looked out the window, bored. After a moment of silence, Leto's father finally spoke up "King Daichi wants' to throw a party for some reason." Leto looked at him "Really?" Hideaki looked out the window "Really." Leto looked confused "Why is that a bad thing?" Hideaki sighed and looked at him "I think the pressures of everything that has happened are getting to him. . . Who in their right mind would want to have a party when their son just went a wall?" Leto didn't answer him, he just looked at him. Hideaki looked back out the window "It just doesn't make any sense." Leto tried to think of something to say "Well . . .  maybe he has something . . . important to announce?" Hideaki didn't look at his son "Maybe." Leto sat back in his chair and relaxed. Abigail sat silent in her seat, she seemed nervous, but Leto didn't want to ask why. It was a quite ride home, but it didn't bother Leto. He was actually grateful that his parents didn't take him to school. The car pulled up to his house, and they all got out. Leto began to walk to the house. He was sad that he had to leave Angel, so he planned to call her once he got inside. He went inside and power walked to his room. Once he got in, he pulled out his phone. Then there was a knock on the door, it was one of the servants. "Yes, what do you need?" He looked at the black haired vampire at his door. "Well, sir, we need to get your measurements for the suit we will be making you." Leto looked back at him with a strange face "S-suit?" The servant nodded "Yes sir, for the upcoming event." Leto sighed loudly "Can't we do it later?" He shook his head "We were actually supposed to do it yesterday, but you weren't home for it. The gathering is in two days, and it takes about a day to make a suit, sir." Leto closed his phone and put it on his bed "Fine, let's just get it over with quick." Leto led the way out of his room.

Angel sat on her bed in her hospital room, it was quite. She put her legs up to her chest and buried her face in her knees. She sighed and flopped back onto her bed and kicked her feet "I'm so bored now . . . " She sat back up and grabbed her phone. She looked at her phone, there was a text. She opened her phone; it was from that number. It read "That depends, whose number is this?" Angel texted back to them "This is Angel, who are you?" send. She put her phone on the stand next to the bed and laid back down. Then her phone started to vibrate. She picked up her phone again "My name is un-important to you. I just wanted to make sure I had the right number." Angel looked at this text in confusion then wrote back "What is that supposed to mean? Who is this???" send. She held the phone this time and waited for a response. It vibrated "I told you, I'm unimportant." Angel became annoyed "Well, how did you get my number?" send. Vibrate. Open. "I got your number from when I found your phone." Angel's face went pale. "Was this the same man from the other day?" she said to herself. Her phone rang, making her jump. It was an unknown number. She looked at her phone for about 2 rings, and then answered it ". . . Hello?" "Hi." It was that man; Angel could recognize his voice "Why do you have my number?" "Because I wanted to talk to you, why do you get peoples numbers?" "Well, what do you want?" "I wanted to know about your brother." Angel's eyes widened "H-how did you know about that?" "Well, he and I were originally going to revolt together, but, he decided that he only wanted werewolves. So, he kicked me out of the alliance." Angel stayed quiet, he asked "You still there? Did you hang up?" Angel answered "Uh, no, I'm here . . . um, can I ask you some questions?" He answered in a surprisingly cheery voice "Why of course you can, ask away." Angel swallowed "Uh, do you know where my brother is now?" "Mmmmm, right now, no." "Oh . . . uh, what all do you know about the um, revolt?" "Well, what was originally going to happen-" He cleared his throat "We were going to take down all of the kings or heads of each family, then we were going to assign a ruler for each one, and go from there." Angel was almost dumb struck on how easy it was to get information from this guy "Um, how many people were in on this?" He paused for a second "I honestly couldn't tell you, there were more than twenty, I can say that for sure." "Oh . . . but, since my brother is only using werewolves-" She sat up on her bed "How many would there be now?" "Probably like, ten, maybe fifteen." Angel paused " . . . How come you're telling me all this information?" He chuckled "Because, I'm going to give you this information, and later on, you will give me something in return." This answer surprised her "Uh, I'm going to give you something? I never agreed to giving you anything-" He interrupted "Don't worry, it's not like it's anything big, it's something that anyone could do, don't worry about it." Angel stayed quite. There was a loud squeak on his line of the phone call "Hey, I gotta' go, my bus is here. So, I'll talk with you more later, bye." He hung up the phone. Angel stared at her phone with many questions in her head, who was he . . . and why was he being so friendly- her phone rang, which made her jump "What the f-". She answered "H-hello?" "I forgot to tell you, don't tell anyone about me, ok?" "Uh, why not?" "Because, I'm a wanted man, and if word gets out that I'm talking to the princess of the werewolves, then they would have my head, got it?" Angel paused before answering " . . . yea . . . sure, I'll stay quite about you." "Good, now then, I have to go, bye." He hung up again. Angel's head buzzed with questions; why did he have Angel's number, why not Damien's, or Vincent's? Why was her father talking with a wanted man that one night? Should she be afraid, or should she trust this man? She looked at her phone, with its pink wallpaper and cute charms hanging off of it. She put it back on her side table; she was lonely again.

Daichi stepped out a black car and closed the door. He wanted to surprise his daughter with a surprise visit and tell her the good news; she could go home today. He entered the hospital and walked to the services desk. "I'm here to see Angel." The nurse popped her bubble gum "She's in the same room as before, you can go back there." Daichi thanked her and left. "Security here is horrible . . . " he thought to himself. He walked down the hallway to Angel's room and knocked on the door. Angel looked up "Daddy!" She hopped off of her bed and hugged him. "Hello Angel, how are you today?" Angel looked up at him "So far so good. Did you just come to visit?" Daichi smiled "nope, I actually have lots of good news for you," Angel smiled as well "Really? Like what?" Daichi walked over to her bed "Well, first off, you can come home today, I got a call from the doctor, and he says that your wounds are minor now." Angel jumped up and down "Yay!" Daichi sat on her bed "Also, we're going to have a celebration on your good health." Angel's face went red "Uh, a celebration for that? Can't we celebrate something else?" One thing that Angel didn't like, was having special attention to her in large crowds, so having a party just for her, with many people there, was nerve wreaking for her. Daichi smiled again "No, this is a celebration, just for you. I also have an important announcement to make, so that's another reason to have the party." He stood up "I'm going to go check you out of this room at the front desk, go ahead and gather up your things." He walked out of the room, said something to one of the guards, and then he walked down the hallway. Angel still felt uneasy about having something like a party just for her. A birthday is different, she usually knows all the people, but a celebration? That usually means there's going to be a lot of people that her father knows too. She packed her things and followed the same way her father went, the guards followed her. Angel met her father in the lobby; he was finishing up the release forms for her to go home. Daichi looked to Angel "Go ahead and wait in the car, I'm almost done here." Angel nodded and walked to the car, the guards followed. The driver was standing next to the back door. As Angel approached the car, he opened the door. She got into the back seat of the car where Damien was sitting. Damien hugged Angel before she could even get into the car. "Hey squirt, feeling any better?" Angel pried herself from his arms and sat down parallel to him "Yea, for the most of it." The guards sat in the front seat of the car. Damien sat back in his seat "Does the hospital food taste bad?" Angel laughed, of course Damien would be thinking with his stomach for everything. "It's ok; I'd rather eat the stuff from the candy machines." Damien laughed "Yea, I probably would too." They sat in the car and talked as their father walked out of the hospital. He got into the car and sat next to Angel.  The driver closed the door and headed for the driver's seat. He got in and put the car in drive, and headed for home.

On the other side of town, a bus pulled up to a rather dirty bus stop. A man with black hair, and red eyes got off the bus. The door to the bus closed, and drove away. He looked down the road to where the bus was headed, and then put his hood on. He began to walk in the direction to where the bus had come from. He put his hands in his pockets, his tail stayed low to the ground. After walking about 2 blocks, he stopped and stood straight up. There was a faint sound that he recognized; a scream, probably from a riot, or a mugging. He ignored it and continued to walk. Arriving at an old apartment, he looked both ways before he entered. The door was unlocked, like it always was; so he walked in. The door was caked with dust, and you could see where people had walked. He walked into the old apartment and closed the door; it creaked as he did so. He took off his hood and looked around. "Always good to be home I guess, even if no one is here to greet you." He ran his fingers along the dusty walls leaving a trail as he went. There was no furniture in here, not even any pictures. It looked just as it did; an old abandoned apartment. He put his fingers together and wiped the dust off, then walked up the stairs. They creaked an old tune from years of being unused. He reached the top of the stairs and stared down the dark hallway, all he could hear was the wind coming from the broken windows. The atmosphere in this house was uncomfortable and eerie. He knew that he wasn't the only one in this house. He put his hands back into his pockets and walked down the hallway. With every step he took, there was a returning squeak. A loud thud in the room up ahead made him stop for a second. He walked to the door and stood to the side of it. It got quite, he leaned towards the door. It burst open; a huge creature ran from the room, hitting the walls as he went. He pulled a pistol from his hoodie pocket and shot it in the back of its left leg. The creature fell to the old carpet, writhing in pain. The man put his gun back into his pocket and walked up to it "So, you guys think you can use MY hideout huh?" He squatted down in front of the huge werewolf, now bleeding on the floor "We weren't going to use this horrible place you-" The man slammed his fist into the wolf's muzzle, which made him howl. The man smiled "Please watch what you say about this place, the walls have ears you know." The wolf growled and tried to swipe his huge paw at him, but the man pulled out his gun and shot at its paw. Again, he howled in pain and growled "- you will pay for this." The demons smile left his face "Pay? And how might I pay?" He put his gun to the creatures head, the wolf gave out a small whimper. "If I were to pay, what would I pay for?" The wolf didn't answer, its breath was heavy. He began to pull the trigger, slowly "Would I pay for Vincent killing my younger brother?" He pulled the trigger once BANG "Would I pay for him using me-" He pulled the trigger again "Would I pay for him destroying everything I had worked for?" He pulled it again "Why should I pay?" The wolf changed back to his human form; a teenage boy with purple hair, kind of scrawny; was now bleeding from many spots of his body. The demon man stood up, still pointing his gun to the carcass "I don't have to pay for anything you idiot" He pulled the trigger again; but it just clicked. "Huh, that's strange, I always put six bullets . . . " he looked at his gun in detail, there were only five rounds " . . . strange." He reached into his jeans pocket and pulled out a round of bullets, and reloaded his gun. He continued to look at the gun 'Have fun Reno!' was etched into the side of it, he ran his finger on the name. "I'm having fun . . . but it was supposed to be with you . . . " He put the gun in his hoodie pocket and turned to leave.

Leto was standing on a podium, in his boxers, being measured. He hated doing stuff like this, it always embarrassed him. "Put your arm up please" Leto put his arm up with a frown "Are you guys almost done?" The person measuring his side wrote down the numbers "Almost sir, just need a few more." Leto mumbled "I don't see why I can't just wear one of my old suits . . . " They continued to get his measurements "Open your legs please." Leto complied, but he was sporting a very strange face. Leto was thankful that this time there were boys doing his measurements; every time he got the girls all there giggling made him nervous. The man wrote down the last numbers "Ok Leto, you can go now-" "Oh thank god." He picked up his pants, put them on, and headed back to his room. Leto usually didn't walk around his house without a shirt on, but he really wanted to get back to his room. He couldn't believe that it took them so long just to get his measurements; it was almost time for dinner. He headed down a flight of stairs, back to his hallway, and reached for his doorknob. "Dinner!" Leto hit his head on his door "Dammit . . . " He opened his door and grabbed a shirt. He then left his room while putting his shirt on. Etsuko's door was closed, he assumed she was probably out with her friends. He arrived in the dining room and sat down. His mother was already sitting at the table. "It's just me and you tonight Leto." Leto smiled "Oh, ok. Where's dad?" She shook her head "Don't mind him." Leto tilted his head to the side "Then where's Etsuko?" She looked at the plate in front of her "At a friend's house." Leto made a weird face as he thought to himself about the night when he went sneaking around his house. Abigail snapped her fingers, and there food was brought out for them. It was the same as always; raw meat and blood packets, but there wasn't as much as there usually was. Leto finished in record time, and excused himself from the table. As soon as he turned the corner, he sprinted up stairs and down the hallway; in fear that he would be called for something else. In one strange movement; he swung his door open, closed it, and jumped to his bed. He landed hard, which made his phone bounce up and onto the floor. He dove for it, falling off of the bed.

The air around the Hytaneron dinner table was strange and heavy. Without Vincent and Damien fighting over food, it seemed unfitting. Angel didn't eat as much as she usually did. She had finished a ham and some bread and stopped eating. Daichi looked to her "Angel, why don't you go and lay down, I'm sure you're not used to staying up this long." Angel nodded her head and headed to her room. She was tired, but she was more sad then anything. This was the first time that Angel had ever been without Vincent for so long. There was a void, and she didn't like it. As she walked, she past by Vincent's room; there was police tape on the door. She felt like crying, not even a day ago, her brother attacked her in this room. Angel looked at the floor and kept walking. She made it to her room and laid down on her bed. She snuggled her face into her pink pillow; she had missed her own bed, and her own room. Rolling around on her bed made some of her stuffed animals fall off. "Ah, Doki and Ru-ru fell." She leaned over the side of her bed and picked them up. Her phone rang from her bag. She slid off of her bed and plopped down in front of the bag. Grabbing her phone she looked at it 'Leto'. She answered quickly "Hey, what's up-" "OHMYGOD!" Angel jumped "u-uh, y-you ok?" "I hit my head on my desk . . . " Angel laughed "How did you manage that?" They talked for a few hours; then the topic of the party came up. Angel laid on her floor "So, you and your family are coming to the party thing, right?" "Yep, I just got fitted for my suit today; I hate getting fitted for these things." "You have to get fitted every time?" "Yea, you don't?" "No, they already have all my stuff in there book" " . . . I should tell them to do that with mine." Angel laughed "That's natural for guys to be fitted each time though," "Oh, and why is that?""Well, 'cuz guys are always growing, you know, in places." "So you're saying you don't grow anymore?" "N-no, I do grow, but you know . . . " "  . . . . No, I don't know . . ." "Well, like for my boobs for example, they're still growing, just . . . slow?" Leto burst out laughing "What? They ARE growing!" Leto laughed so hard that he fell off his bed again, so on Angel's side of the phone it went something like this *un-controllable laughter, THUD, More laughter.* "Did you just kill a clown?" Leto laughed even more. Angel giggled "So, what color are you going to where?" Leto let out a few more chuckles before he answered "Uh, I'm not sure, they're going to pick it." "Ew; I never let anyone pick my clothes, I've already told them to a 'T' what I want." "Oh? So, what are you going to wear?" Angel cleared her throat "Well, it's going to be a long black skirt, with a flower trim on the belt. And the top is going to be a yellow and black corset with frills on the bottom." As Angel explained this, Leto closed his eyes and tried to imagine what her outfit would look like. Angel continued "I'm going to wear socks that go all the way up to my knees, and black mary-janes 'cuz I don't want to wear heels, I'm not to coordinated in them. There's going to be a lot of frill on the dress too, I asked them to add as much as they wanted." Leto nodded his head "I see." "Oh- I'm also going to get them to make arm warmers to match the outfit." "Arm warmers are always good." Angel sighed "I think that's all of it. You should ask what color they're going to make your clothes." "Nah, I don't really care what it looks like, I'll wear it anyways." Angel looked at the clock, it was almost twelve "holy crap, I just realized what time it was." Leto looked at the clock too "Oh, god, I haven't been in the shower yet . . . " Angel giggled "Yea, me either. So, I'll talk to you tomorrow?" "Yea, love you." "I love you too, G'night" "Night" Leto hung up his phone, Angel did too. She stood up, grabbed her pajamas then headed out of her room. Angel walked to the bathroom; her mother was in there too. "Oh, hi mama, why are you taking a bath so late?" Haru looked at her "Oh, no reason. I just couldn't sleep." She looked at the floor and walked towards the bath. Angel hadn't noticed it before, but her mother looked different. The once strict and playful warden was now a tired and miserable looking woman. Angel took off her clothes, grabbed a towel to cover herself and headed for the bath as well. Haru was already running the water and was waiting for it to get hot, Angel sat and waited too. "So, mama, how have you been?" Angel said with a smile. Haru didn't look up "I've been better." Angel's ears dropped down, she didn't want to make her mom sad by saying the wrong thing "Yea, me too." There was an awkward pause. Haru put her hand under the water "It's warm now, if you want to get in." Angel perked up "Oh, yea, I'll get in now." Angel slowly removed her towel as she sat in the water. She went as far as putting her chin in the water "I missed taking real baths in my own house." Haru put down the soap and stuff she was holding and got in too. She stared at the soap bubbles forming in the water. Angel looked up at her as she submerged her head into the water. Haru watched her daughter play in the water, and was reminded of when Angel was younger "Some things, you never out grow I guess." Angel popped out of the water and shook her head "I got water in my ear." Haru laughed as Angel sat back down in the water. All in all it was a quite bath session. After Angel was done with her bath, she grabbed her towel "Well, I'm gunna go ahead and go to bed then." Haru looked up "Oh, yes. Goodnight." Angel dried off then started to put her pajamas on. She saw the scar on her chest from her brother. She ignored it and put her shirt on. As she opened the door she called back to her mother "G'night mama." There was no answer. Angel peeked around the corner to see that her mom had put her head underwater. She waited for her to come back up. A good three minutes passed; Angel walked over to the tub and poked her mother in the shoulder. She came back up gasping for air, which scared Angel making her fall back. Haru choked and gasped for air. "M- mama, are you ok?" Haru began to cry "Oh god." Angel sat up and tried to comfort her "What's wrong?" Haru hugged her daughter "Angel, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I've been so selfish." Angel's shirt became soaked "Mama, I don't understand, what's wrong?"  Haru cried and kept apologizing, angel became even more confused. At last Haru put her head up and looked at Angel "Angel . . . I'm sorry." Angel put her hand on Haru's head "It's ok, I don't know what's wrong, but it's ok." Haru laughed and wiped her eyes. "Well, I should be getting out now." She grabbed her towel and stood up. Angel stood up too "Are you sure you're ok?" Haru walked forward and out of the bathroom wearing only her towel, leaving Angel soaking and confused.
